Join my newsletter flock!
I’d love you to join me on this magical flight through life. I’ll be sharing recommendations, snippets of wisdom and bits of work along the way.
I’m siting here feeling immensely grateful to you for supporting me in all sorts of ways during 2023. It’s been quite a year, hasn’t it? Bumpy, seems to be a commonly used adjective. So, now’s the time I extend a big, fat, cracking Christmas voice over thank you!
With an Audio Christmas Card to Make you Smile.
I pluck a quill from my back and write one of these every year, dash into the booth, record and then hand it over to the man of the nest for the sound design and mix. Even the trainee studio dog, Neville Longbottom features this year! You’ll have to listen right to the end to hear him, but I promise you it’s worth it – and it’s a scene from real life, too!
If you’d like to hear more fabulously festive audio from year’s past, you’ll find a selection on my animation accents and characters page
2023 Voice Over Clients, for the Curious…
Wondering who the heck this little bird has voiced for over the last year? Well, some remain anonymous, because of NDA’s obvs. Others may mean little to you. But here’s a selection of voice over clients and brands you might have heard of:
- ITV
- Sky Kids
- Red Cross
- UNHCR
- Wildlife Trust
- Whale and Dolphin Conservation
- Bumblebee Conservation Trust (finalist at the VOX Awards 2023)
There are more!
- PepsiCo
- Diageo
- Fiat
- Roche
- Pfizer
- Unilever
- Janssen
- Nutrigums
- Ocado
- La-Z-Boy
The List Goes On!
- Stihl
- Bloomsbury
- Credit Suisse
- The Access Group
- Twycross Zoo
- Manchester Metropolitan University
- Global
- Bauer
You can see some of the commercial, corporate and explainer voice overs on my website. And there’s a little bit about the animation for Sky Kids, too. Yep, this little bird’s a panda called Pax in series 3 of Obki! A fabulously fun series that tackles the tricky subject of climate change in a brilliant way. Breathe a sigh of relief, parents!
What Else Have You done?
Erm…delivered a guest lecture to students at Manchester Metropolitan University about voice over.
Written a chapter for the book Voiceover Secrets 2.
Along with 174 other voices, I’ve narrated a little section of Alice Through the Looking Glass, to raise money for Cancer Research.
Been a guest on the fabulously fun How Do You Say That podcast.
Voiced projects in both Northern and Scottish accents and created a Northern accent voice over reel.
Not to mention doing a lot of training with Neville Longbottom the studio dog! Who still isn’t allowed in the studio, because of his thieving ways. Apparently it’ll be another 18 months before he matures. That said, his mum has apparently stripped the Christmas tree and destroyed quite a few decorations, so I shan’t hold my breath!
More Christmas Voice Over with Festive Podcast Fun!
I know Christmas can be a tricky time of year. For some it’s magical, for others, not so much. And it can be a mixture of both. So, here’s a little bit of escapism for you. Yes, our podcast Life’s a Gas is back with two new festive episodes designed to make you smile. Claire and Alison await your be-tinselled ears! Oh and the Dogologue titled Ruby is also a totally crackers Christmas episode!
But Most Importantly, a Christmas Voice Over Thank you…
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to you for your scripts, the chats and giggles we’ve had down the line in the booth, and in real life, too! Thank you for the interactions we’ve had on social media, your kind testimonials and all of your support, both spoken and unspoken. It’s thanks to you that I’m not just talking to myself (!) and get to slip into hearts and minds and do what I was always meant to do. It’s never ‘just talking’, it really is all about that precious human connection.
Thanks to you, this year I’ve been able to support WDC, Cancer Research, The Wellspring, Children in Need, Stand up to Cancer and our local Big Issue seller amongst others.
Wishing you peace, good health, and a full heart and I look forward to working with you again in 2024!
Your bird in the booth, and naughty Neville Longbottom.x
