Despite what you might read, some brands really do still value the power of a real human voice. Shell is one of those brands. This little bird is the brand voice for their digital radio campaigns throughout 2026. Why did they choose me? Because they wanted a warm, human voice that could sell without sounding selly. After all, no-one likes to be sold to.
The Value of Working with Clients Long Term
The thing I love about working with clients over a long period of time, is that we forge a relationship, quickly build trust. We understand each other, get to know one another. And that not only makes the work more fun for everyone, but it also means we’re laser sharp and get the job done faster than you can type a prompt into AI. Creativity is part of what makes us human, it’s one of the joys of life, something to value and nurture. I’ve been working with some of my clients for twenty years and it’s as much of a joy now as it was when I first set up my studio after leaving the BBC.
A Real Human Voice Comes with Extras
Corporate,commercial, medical and animation voice over work aside, some of you have pleaded with me for years to read you a bedtime story, and to create meditations, too. I’ve listened, as I always do. When you’re working with a real human, it’s always a two-way process, which is part of the joy of it!
