Voice overs work similarly to music. There’s a basic session fee, and if the project is public facing, there may be an additional usage fee to license a particular use for an agreed time.

You might not have all the answers right now, but this is a useful guide to what may be needed in order to agree the final costing.

1. What is your name?2. What is your email address?3. What’s the nature of the project:4. Is the script intended to inform or sell?5. Who’s your target audience?6. What’s the script duration and word count?7. Where will the finished content be used?

7a. For Broadcast TV - which channels, and how long will the campaign run? Please supply TVRs (or impressions if it’s Sky Adsmart).7b. For radio - which stations, and how long will the campaign run?

7a. For Online - where? Client website only, or social media?

7b. If it’s for social media, which channels?7c. Will it be organic (passive) or paid (active)?

7d. If active, what’s the number of impressions and campaign length, or do you have an idea of media spend?

8. Do you have a budget in mind for the voiceover?9. Would you like to direct down the line, or via Teams or Zoom etc, or leave me to record and send you the files?10. What’s your deadline?
