There are days when we pedal like mad, just to stand still. Others when we sail along, helped by a following wind, a bar of chocolate & a few encouraging friends!
It takes time to work out how & where we fit into the world. We must delve to uncover our USP. Seek out clients for whom our skills & style are a match. The skills that we never stop honing, because to stand still, is to wither on the vine.
I believe it’s important to consider & strive to fulfil one’s potential. Holistically, not just in terms of work. Why? Because, let’s face it, life informs work & work informs life! That unpeeling process is the work of a lifetime. It cannot be hurried, no matter how much we may sometimes wish it were otherwise!
Sometimes, it’s the tough times, the harsh winters of life, that teach us the most. They help us to appreciate the sun, when it appears from behind the clouds & warms the soul.
This week seems to have spanned all four seasons! A long winter of paperwork (to be continued over the weekend, alas), sandwiched between voice overs, editing & the fun, creative stuff.
Sometimes, hard work pays off. This has been one of those weeks, with the One Voice Award last weekend & today, I’m delighted to say that I’ve been warmly welcomed by fabulous Agent in the USA – The Sheppard Agency . You can teach an old dog new tricks! Well, Nancy Wolfson can!
Keep an eye out for the people who’ll help you to fulfil your potential. You’ll meet many along the way. The trick is, to trust your gut instinct & to recognise them. It isn’t a one-way process either. Surprisingly, it often evolves into a mutual exchange of skills, be it practical, intellectual, spiritual, emotional, or, or, or…
