I’d love you to join me on this magical flight through life. I’ll be sharing recommendations, snippets of wisdom and bits of work along the way.
If you haven’t worked with me before, you might not know about the hidden benefits included with every voiceover. So, I thought I’d tell you about them!
Sense and grammar check with every job.
There are so many tools that can help with this, but nothing beats a real human who’s been booked to voice the words you’ve written. Sometimes things look fine in black and white, but when you say them out loud, they feel clunky. Scripts written in a another language can get a little lost in translation. There are subtle nuances that can easily be missed. Here at Starling’s nest, I don’t just voice and send. I’m on your team, and I want our work together to be the best it can be. So, if I think a small tweak could make all the difference, rest assured, I’ll offer up suggestions. I’ve done just that for several corporate voiceover projects recently, and an explainer only today!
Another perspective.
Perhaps you’re not quite settled on a style for your project? If that’s the case, I can demo a couple of options for you to choose from, before cracking on with the full voice over recording. That way you can be sure you have the right style for the ears of your all-important audience. That style can also extend to pronunciation. For example, with medical and technical narration, some words are pronounced differently in the US to the UK, so it’s important to adapt according to the audience.
Time – another hidden benefit with every voiceover.
Who doesn’t want more time?!
One of the hidden benefits of working with a an experienced, professional voiceover is that it buys you time. There’s an inbuilt understanding of the entire process. Not to mention pace, pitch, tone and the overall quality of the recording. So everything’s just quicker. I worked in live broadcasting for years, so there’s no faffing about when time’s tight! I’m used to clients and agencies listening in and directing, and there’s often quite an audience for commercial sessions, but I’m cool with that. I’m just accustomed to self-records, too of course. We’ll do whatever works best for you. And the chances are, you’ll have time for a brew and a biscuit when we’re done!
A human approach.
It’s easy to turn to AI, but it’s also easy to forget that this work is meant for human ears, and that AI is a poor imitation. It’s not just about speed and accuracy, though obvs, I have that covered! It’s also about the human heart. Because voiceover work is all about making your audience feel something. That’s the thing they’ll remember. That’s what connects them to you and your product or service. That’s what will inspire them to take action. And that’s the thing that’ll help you to stand out from the crowd. When I add my passion for this work to yours? Together, we can make a real impact.
There really are hidden benefits with every voiceover.
These are just some of them. Obviously the tech’ is everything you’d expect, I’m no fly-by-night in a duvet-draped broom cupboard. Oh, and I haven’t mentioned chats, laughter, ease and life-fixes, but these often happen along the way, too! Well, they don’t call me ‘magical Sara‘ for nothing, you know 😉
Rest assured, though he’s pretty good on the whole, Neville Longbottom’s still banned from the studio, but he remains a hidden benefit for this little bird, and for you if you need any canine sound effects!)
You can listen to voiceover demo reels as always, and if you’d like to work with me, or just have a chat about an upcoming project, drop me a line!
